Evaluation of Cefixime Toxicity Treated With Sono-electro-Fenton Process by Bioassay Using Microorganisms

The aim of this study was to determine the toxicity cefixime in inlet solution and effluent treated with sono-electro-Fenton process using standard strains microorganisms. This research performed as an experimental study, which conducted on a laboratory scale. Escherichia coli (gram-negative) Staphylococcus aureus (gram-positive) were used for bioassay. First, stock 1000 mg/L containing Cefixime prepared, each bacterium (gram-positive gram-negative), 5 samples from reactor collected under optimal conditions. Finally, sample transferred 10 mL sterile lactose broth, loop E. or S. dissolved sample. Toxicity changes investigated by calculating percentage growth inhibition. results showed that after hours, rate both bacteria control higher, while lower had higher toxicity. Based reduced 70% 9.3% (86.7% reduction toxicity), case aureus, it diminished 25.3% 7% (72.3% toxicity) hours. present bioassay microorganisms is effective useful method cefixime.
